From Shiva to the Present

Adi Guru Ishwara (Shiva), the eternal Adi Yogi, first revealed the science of Yoga to the Saptarishis thousands of years ago, entrusting Sage Agastya to carry this wisdom to the South. From Agastya emerged the great Tamil Siddha tradition, with Bogar Siddha consecrating divine idols and preserving yogic sciences. Through the ages, this light was carried by immortal Maha Avatar Babaji, who reappeared in the 19th century to bless Lahiri Mahasaya, proving that Kriya Yoga was meant for all  renunciates and householders alike. Lahiri’s disciple Sri Yukteswar guided Yogananda to take this wisdom to the West, while in our own time, Dr. Pujya Sri Gurumurthy Guruji continues this sacred stream, offering Sanjeevani Kriya to seekers worldwide with simplicity, devotion, and grace.
